How much does Lip Augmentation Cost in the Richmond, VA Area?

Tag Archives: VA

A lip augmentation procedure can be performed as a lip implant plastic surgery, fat transfer injections or dermal fillers that add volume to the lips and provide the lips and face a more appealing appearance. People with thin lips can benefit significantly from a lip enhancement procedure.

During the pre-operative consultation, the healthcare provider will explain various treatment options to the patient along with the approximate costs of the procedure.

The Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery, led by kind board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton M. Sundin and Dr. Reps B. Sundin, provides lip augmentation to patients in Richmond, Fredericksburg, Tysons Corner, Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and surrounding communities.

Lip Implant Surgery Costs

Lip implant plastic surgery offers permanent lip enhancement results with more refined outcomes in comparison to those offered by fat transfer or dermal lip fillers. It is an ideal option for people with thin lips. Lip implant materials commonly include SoftForm, GORE-TEX, and AlloDerm.

In comparison to dermal filler injectables, an implant procedure will cost more. The implant costs can differ on the basis of the type of synthetic implants used. In addition, the procedure also includes costs such as the plastic surgeon’s fee, surgical venue expenses, and anesthesia costs.

In a majority of cases, the patient will receive this procedure at a hospital or accredited surgical center. This would add to the total costs of lip augmentation.

Cost of Lip Augmentation with Fat Transfer

Lip augmentation with fat transfer refers to the removal of fat from one site on the body and placing this fat via injections into the lips. This procedure can offer patients soft and natural-feeling outcomes that sustain from six months to over a year.

Fat is taken from donor areas on the body using liposuction. After removal, the fat tissue undergoes a purifying centrifugal process. Then the fat is injected into the lips.

The total costs of this treatment may be similar to the costs of a lip implant surgery. This procedure also involves the surgeon’s fee, surgical venue expenses, and anesthesia costs. But this lip augmentation procedure does not include synthetic implant costs.

It is essential for patients to note that lip implants may offer more sustainable or permanent outcomes. However, lip augmentation with fat transfer may require repetitive treatments in the future. This will add to the long-term costs of the procedure.

Sticker Price of Lip Augmentation with Dermal Fillers

The surgeon may advise suitable candidates to undergo lip augmentation with dermal fillers to add volume and plumpness to the lips. A wide range of materials and injection techniques are available for lip augmentation to suit the individual needs of various patients.

Of all the treatment alternatives, lip augmentation with dermal fillers is the most affordable option. This procedure does not involve the costs associated with a surgical procedure such as general anesthesia costs and surgical venue expenses. This is an in-office procedure that does not require the use of sedation or general anesthesia.

However, lip augmentation results with dermal fillers are temporary usually lasting from six months to one year, depending on which filler is used. Reliable plastic surgeons at VIPS receive patients from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Tysons Corner, Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and nearby areas across the landscape for lip augmentation.

Neck Lift Plastic Surgery Before and After Photos | Richmond | ViennaThe neck lift has emerged as one of the sought after plastic surgery procedures in recent years. At the time of pre-operative consultation, the surgeon will explain about various aspects of neck lift in order to educate the patient and help them make an informed choice.

Many surgeons may also prefer to present neck lift before and after photographs at the very first appointment. The goal is to let the patient know about the potential effectiveness of the procedure. Board certified plastic surgeons at the Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery provide neck lift to patients in Richmond, Virginia, and surrounding locations.

What are Neck Lift Before and After Pictures?

Before and after pictures in case of neck lift plastic surgery refer to a set of images pertaining to an earlier patient who has undergone the same surgery with a satisfactory outcome. The set includes images taken prior to the surgery and after the surgery at a stage when the post-op bruising and swelling is completely resolved and full effects of neck lift are visible.

The surgeon will take care to acquire these pictures with the proper consent of the patient, and present them before new patients in an appropriate manner. The identity of the patient may be kept confidential as needed. The sole purpose of the surgeon in this exercise is to use these photos as a visual aid to inform and educate new patients about the benefits of neck lift.

Advantages

When a new patient is considering neck lift surgery, they may only have a vague idea about how the procedure can improve their appearance or whether it will meet their personal cosmetic goals. Some patients may only require neck liposuction, while some others may need a full neck lift surgery.

In some cases, the surgeon may recommend neck lift in conjunction with facelift surgery. In all such cases, the patient is in a better position to make the right decisions when they have access to neck lift before and after photos.

Keeping Reasonable Expectations

Judicious surgeons know that highest patient satisfaction levels in procedures such as neck lift can be achieved when the patient has a positive state of mind, clear goals and reasonable expectations. Therefore, they will like to show neck lift before and after photos at the very first opportunity.

Once the patient knows what a neck lift surgery can or cannot do for them, they will make a correct decision about it. Such patients will usually be more appreciative of the final outcomes. Hard working and committed plastic surgeons at the Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery receive patients from Richmond, Virginia, and nearby areas for neck lift surgery.

Online Photos

The surgeon has the option to present neck lift before and after photos on their practice website. New patients can easily access the photos online even before they are ready for a personal neck lift consultation. If the surgeon is active on social media, they may also disseminate the photos via photo sharing networks such as Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Digital media is what has transformed this industry. Digital media has transformed many industries and as just stated the plastic surgery industry is certainly one of them. Now patients can see vivid online pictures so they know exactly what they are getting themselves into. They no longer have to walk into the clinic exposing themselves like this and rely on vague brochures and Polaroid pictures.

Patients can make serious decisions in regards to neck lift plastic surgery without anyone even knowing, not even the surgeon. This decreases the anxiety of the patient which means everyone is more relaxed going into surgery. Website photos have changed the entire picture for everyone involved and for the better.

Neck Lift Plastic Surgery Cost | Richmond | Vienna | Chevy ChaseOne of the first places in the body where the signs of aging will visibly appear is the neck. Sun exposure and weight fluctuations will also contribute to sagging skin in the neck area. This condition can be effectively corrected with neck lift plastic surgery. During the initial consultation, the surgeon will discuss all aspects of neck lift, including its estimated costs.

The first concern of a responsible surgeon will be to help the patient make a well-considered decision about the procedure. The Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery, led by board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton Sundin and Dr. Reps Sundin, provides neck lift to patients in Richmond, Virginia, and surrounding locations.

Cost Variations

Depending on the type of surgical technique chosen to perform neck lift and several other factors, the sticker price for neck lift plastic surgery can vary between two patients. Patients should know that cost alone may not be a sufficient indicator of the expertise of a surgeon, and should not be the sole criterion while choosing a surgeon.

Neck Liposuction

If the patient’s skin in the neck area is reasonably elastic, but the appearance of neck is unsightly due to excess fat tissue pockets, the surgeon may perform only neck liposuction. The dollar figure of this procedure will be relatively lower, but it may also vary depending on the choice of liposuction technique and the amount of fat to be removed.

Cervicoplasty

For patients who suffer from a significant amount of sagging skin in the neck area, the surgeon may perform cervicoplasty procedure. It will involve removal of loose skin in order to create a smoother, younger looking neck. Similar to liposuction, the cost of cervicoplasty will be towards the lower end of the neck lift price range. Experienced plastic surgeons at the Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery receive patients from Richmond, Virginia, and nearby areas for neck lift.

Platysmaplasty

Sometimes the surgeon may have to perform platysmaplasty, which will involve restructuring of the underlying weak neck muscles, apart from skin and fat reduction. A part of the platysma muscle may be removed to create a better contoured and refined neck. This procedure will typically be combined with cervicoplasty. The cost of this overall procedure will be at the higher end of the price spectrum.

Combined Procedures

A facelift and neck lift are often performed together to create more natural looking results. The combined procedure can be more cost-effective because the anesthesia costs, operating room costs, and post-surgical expenses will be incurred just once in a combined procedure. Sometimes upper face procedures such as eyelid lift and brow lift may also be added along with neck lift.

Insurance and Financing

Insurance coverage is normally not available in case of neck lift because it is an elective procedure. However, a number of financing options are available to the patient. Dedicated medical financing firms can offer specialized loans with low interest rates, fast loan approvals, no requirement of credit history. Patients should start exploring the financing options well before the surgery date is scheduled.

Neck Lift Plastic Surgery | Richmond | Chevy Chase | PotomacNeck lift plastic surgery is a safe, critical, and concrete way to restore a more sculpted and younger looking neck appearance. The Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery, led by board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton Sundin and Dr. Reps Sundin, provides neck lift and several other surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures to patients in Richmond, Virginia, and surrounding locations.

Cosmetic Flaws Addressed with Neck Lift

Aging process and other factors can cause the appearance of loose skin, excess fat tissue and unsightly bands in the neck area. The neck lift surgery is an ideal procedure to reduce or remove these anomalies. Neck lift can also help to reduce a jowly appearance and give the effect of a more defined jaw line.

Most patients will look more youthful and attractive with neck lift, and many can also appear as if they have gone through a weight loss. But the patient should have realistic expectations, and be aware that more dramatic outcomes can be achieved when neck lift is combined with a facelift plastic surgery.

Candidacy

The common age when an individual may be a fabulous candidate for neck lift is between 40 and 70. Women and men affected by one or more of the following conditions may be more suited for a neck lift surgery:

  • The skin in the neck area is damaged due to environmental exposure and sun
  • Excess fat tissue below the chin gives the effect of a double chin
  • A turkey wattle neck appearance due to loose, slack skin in the neck
  • Appearance of jowls due to excessive skin or fat under the jaws
  • Conspicuous wrinkles, folds, or creases in the neck or excess fat tissue deposits

Procedure

If the skin in the neck area is reasonably elastic, but the patient is bothered by the appearance of excess fat deposits, the surgeon may only recommend neck liposuction. In other cases, neck lift will be performed to remove loose skin and tighten the underlying weak neck muscles to give a subtle lift to the neck.

With the help of the latest surgical techniques, the plastic surgeon will be able to perform the neck lift using only minor incisions, which can be discreetly placed below the chin and behind the ears. Surgical excision or liposuction may be used to remove excess fat tissue through the incisions. The surgeon will also tighten and reposition the slack muscles. A portion of the platysma muscle may be removed in some cases.

Once the lifting and tightening of the underlying neck tissue is completed, the surgeon will re-drape the skin over the neck and pull it taut. Any surplus skin will be excised at this point, and the incisions will be carefully closed with sutures. The Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery receives patients from Richmond, Virginia, and various communities across the region for neck lift surgery.

Recovery

The patient may have to go through a downtime of about one week following neck lift. However, strenuous activity and heavy lifting of weight will have to be avoided for about two to three weeks.

What is Micro Liposuction? | Richmond | McLean Plastic SurgeryTraditional liposuction is a popular body contouring plastic surgery procedure, but it may not be the most appropriate procedure to reduce stubborn fats from sensitive areas such as the neck, chin, and cheeks. In such cases, the surgeon may recommend micro liposuction, which is an innovative procedure designed for areas that require limited contouring.

The candidate should ideally have stable and moderate body weight before seeking micro liposuction. Patients in Richmond, Virginia, and surrounding communities have an opportunity to receive this procedure from board certified plastic surgeons at the Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery.

Minimally Invasive

A key benefit of micro liposuction is that it will require very small incisions, and the surgeon will make use of tiny cannulas to remove the fat tissue. This helps to make the procedure minimally invasive, reducing the subsequent discomfort, scarring, and recovery period. The procedure should be used in areas where the fat does not resolve through diet or exercise, just as in case of traditional liposuction plastic surgery.

The smaller surgical instruments used in case of micro liposuction also enable the surgeon to treat sensitive areas such as the face. Only local anesthesia may used in many cases, which mitigates the risk and post-operative discomfort. The fat cells removed with this technique will be gone for good.

In micro liposuction, the size of the cannula will range between 1.5 mm and 6 mm in diameter. The smaller size allows for the creation of more even looking contours, and minimizes the risk of irregularities, ripples, or lumps in the skin. In some cases, the surgeon may start the procedure using large cannulas and progressively reduce their size as the fat gets eliminated. Very small cannulas give the surgeon fine grain control over the final shape of the treated area.

Key Micro Lipo Areas

Lips

Micro liposuction can help to perform autologus fat transfer in the lips to improve lip definition and augment their appearance. Deficient or damaged skin in the lips can be restored with this procedure.

Face

If the patient has excess fatty tissue directly under the facial skin, the surgeon may recommend micro liposuction. It can create smoother and more attractive facial contours in a minimally invasive way.

Neck

Micro liposuction can help to create a more sculpted and proportionate neck. The surgeon will make use of a tiny cannula to remove unwanted fat from the neck and chin to create a firmer and more even looking neck.

Other Areas

In a few cases, fat removal in larger surface areas such as the hips, thighs, abdomen and back can be performed with the help of micro liposuction. The plastic surgeon may recommend this procedure when the patient wants only subtle enhancement and prefers a less invasive technique to minimize the discomfort and downtime.

Micro liposuction is ideally suited for working people and busy mothers who typically want a procedure that involves minimal risk and minimal downtime. Dependable plastic surgeons at VIPS receive patients from Richmond, Virginia, and nearby areas for micro liposuction.

Skin Rejuvenation| Lutronic’s Infini Microneedling | Richmond Med SpaAging and other factors will gradually cause the skin to become loose and saggy, making a person look older and tired. While patients have a choice to undergo skin tightening plastic surgery procedures, many of them want to evaluate various non-surgical options which may deliver similar outcomes without the typical risks, discomfort and downtime associated with surgeries.

The Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery, led by board certified plastic surgeons, provides Infini by Lutronic as a unique microneedling procedure, which is designed to create skin rejuvenation without surgery. Patients in Richmond, Virginia, and surrounding communities have an opportunity to receive Infini treatment at VIPS.

Radio Frequency (RF) Based Treatment

Infini microneedling procedure makes use of high intensity, focused, radio frequency (RF) energy. Gentle and controlled RF waves are delivered to the affected areas of the skin to volumize the depleted tissue and support the inner structures for a firmer and smoother outer skin. The treatment expert will employ gold coated, insulated micro needles to create fractionated TCPs at the optimal depth within the deeper skin layers.

Adjustable microneedles allow for customized treatment by selecting the appropriate depth of delivery of RF energy. Therefore, patients can receive the right amount of treatment for their specific skin condition. RF energy is gentle and safe, and delivered in a targeted and controlled manner to protect the surrounding healthy skin and tissue.

Unlike plastic surgery, the Infini micro needling procedure will involve minimal to no discomfort or downtime. Skin resurfacing at variable depths also enables the provider to help improve the appearance of acne scars and facial wrinkles and fine lines. Experienced plastic surgeons at VIPS receive patients from Richmond, Virginia, and nearby areas for Infini by Lutronic.

Benefits

Lutronic Infini microneedling procedure provides a number of benefits over various other non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments.

  • Intensity of energy as well as treatment depths are customizable, which allows for a controlled, multi-layered treatment approach for safer and more effective outcomes.
  • Patients with dark or tanned skin may also use Infini treatment with good results.
  • Infini microneedling can be used on the delicate and sensitive areas of the skin.
  • It reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation in patients with dark skin.
  • Melasma and pigmented lesions can be treated successfully with Infini.
  • The patient ComfortFlow technology of Infini treats 3.5 mm deep for optimal comfort and patient satisfaction.
  • Due to sequential needle insertion, the patient will go through minimal discomfort, and the recovery will be easy.
  • More than 100,000 TCPs can be delivered through Infini’s micro needle tip in just one treatment session of 45 minutes.
  • The procedure involves significantly lower downtime than in case of CO2 laser treatment.
  • Infini can be more cost effective than many other non-invasive skin rejuvenation procedures.

Scars and wrinkles can be treated effectively with Infini as it can help to create gentle skin resurfacing. The procedure is ideally suited for working people and busy moms who often seek procedures that involve very little downtime.

Facial Treatments to Keep You Looking Young | Richmond Medical SpaInnovations in non-surgical cosmetic techniques and technology have led to the emergence of several procedures that completely avoid the need for plastic surgery and yet deliver safe and satisfactory results. These procedures may be used independently or in combination with other surgical or non-surgical treatments, depending on the patient’s requirements.

The Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery, led by experienced and board certified plastic surgeons, provides various invasive and non-invasive cosmetic procedures for the face, body, and breasts. Patients in Richmond, Virginia, and surrounding communities have an opportunity to receive these treatments at VIPS.

Ultherapy

Skin in the face, neck, and décolletage may begin to sag as a person ages, or due to sun exposure, heredity, and other factors. To restore tighter and firmer skin in these areas, patients may choose Ultherapy, which is a completely non-invasive treatment designed to lift sagging skin. This FDA-cleared procedure is based on the proven ultrasound technology.

Controlled application of ultrasound energy is safe and gentle on the sensitive areas of the face, including the eyebrow area and under the chin. The treatment can improve structural support to the skin without harming the external skin layers.

Infini Microneedling

Infini non-invasive treatment employs radio frequency (RF) energy to treat skin laxity, facial signs of aging and other skin imperfections without involving plastic surgery. The Infini device is used to direct RF energy to the deeper skin layers in the affected areas. It will help to create fresh volume in the depleted tissue, resulting in smoother and tighter skin on the outside.

Infini involves the use of gold coated, insulated micro needles, which will produce high precision fractionated Thermal Coagulation Points (TCPs) at the optimal depths within the deeper skin layers.

IPL

Photoaging or sun damage can cause numerous skin imperfections on the face, which can be improved with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy. Conditions such as age spots, sun spots, irregular skin tone, pigmentation, coarse skin texture, spider veins, rosacea, melasma, enlarged pores and wrinkles and fine lines can be gently addressed with non-invasive IPL therapy.

The gentle and controlled heat generated through IPL device will penetrate the deeper skin layers to trigger the photo rejuvenation process and treat the effects of sun damage and natural aging. Acne scars and skin discoloration can also be addressed with IPL.

Injectable Fillers

Juvederm XC, Belotero Balance, Restylane and Perlane are all FDA approved facial dermal filler injections offered by VIPS to treat facial wrinkles, creases, and fine lines. These are all hyaluronic acid based fillers, which is a biocompatible substance found naturally in the body. Juvederm XC is designed to improve the appearance of moderate to severe wrinkles in the face.

Belotero Balance, Restylane and Perlane may also be used to treat facial aging lines by adding volume to the saggy or depleted areas. The injectable treatments may be used independently or in conjunction with other invasive or non-invasive facial procedures. Results with these injectable fillers can usually last for about six to 12 months. Dedicated plastic surgeons at VIPS receive patients from Richmond, Virginia, and nearby areas for these procedures.

Facelift Surgery Overview | Richmond Plastic Surgery | RichmondA facelift, clinically known as rhytidectomy, is a plastic surgery procedure designed to mitigate the effects of facial aging. The procedure can lessen the appearance of deep wrinkles below the eyes and between the nose and mouth, firm up sagging skin around the eyes and cheeks, tighten droopy skin under the jaw, correct facial asymmetry arising due to fatty deposits, and minimize double chin appearance.

The Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery, led by board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton Sundin and Dr. Reps Sundin, provides facelift and various other cosmetic procedures. Patients in Richmond, Virginia and surrounding communities have an opportunity to receive facelift and other procedures at the practice.

Surgical Procedure

Facelift plastic surgery may be performed using general anesthesia or IV sedation, depending on the situation. Additional procedures along with facelift may be performed in some cases, such as facial implants, Botox or dermal filler injections. Neck lift surgery is usually performed in conjunction with facelift to achieve more uniform looking results.

The surgeon will begin the procedure by placing the incisions in discreet locations. The length and positioning of the incisions will be chosen according to the extent of correction required.

Full Facelift

In case of a full traditional facelift surgery, the incision will follow the hairline from the temples to the lower scalp, around the top of the ear.

This incision will allow the surgeon to pull away the facial mask, and reposition or lift the underlying weak facial muscles and fatty tissue. After the completion of the task, the surgeon will reapply the facial mask over the tightened tissues and remove the excess skin.

Limited Facelift

Some patients may not require full traditional facelift surgery, and may only need a limited maintenance procedure. The surgeon will perform a limited facelift by placing smaller incisions at the hairline of the temple, along the ear and, in several cases, under the upper lip.

Neck Lift

Neck lift surgery will be additionally performed in many cases to remove sagging and loose skin and fat pockets from the neck area. In this case, the incision will extend from the lower earlobe area around and behind the ear to the lower scalp. The incisions will be carefully closed with sutures once the surgery is completed.

Natural Looking Results

An experienced plastic surgeon will be able to produce natural looking outcomes with minimal scarring. The incision lines will be hidden below the hairline and within the natural face contours. Results will be noticeable, but not obvious, if the procedure is performed correctly. The surgeon will adopt a conservative approach to ensure that the face does not look stretched or ‘plastic’ and retains its natural contours and character.

Recovery

Some degree of pain and discomfort is expected in the first few days after the facelift surgery. This can be managed with pain medications prescribed by the surgeon. The patient will be able to resume their normal routine in about 10 to 14 days in case of a full facelift. Smoking is not permitted during the recovery phase. Strenuous exercises should be avoided for about three to four weeks.
