Dermaplaning is performed using a high-precision scalpel to gently exfoliate dead or damaged skin cells from the top layers of your skin. A highly trained and skilled aesthetician will perform this physical exfoliation technique to remove the stratum corneum and the vellus hair on your face (the “peach fuzz”). The treatment will renew your skin surface, boost cell metabolism, and create natural, youthful-looking results.

3-step Dermaplaning Procedure

Each dermaplaning treatment appointment will involve three essential steps as follows:

Step 1: Cleansing and Toning

To begin with, our dermaplaning aesthetician will use a special cleanser suited for your skin to gently remove any oil, dirt, debris, and make-up from your skin. Once the cleansing is thoroughly done, our aesthetician will apply a gentle skin toner that will help close any enlarged pores so that they remain free of clogging while the treatment is in progress.

Step 2: Dermaplaning Procedure

Our experienced aesthetician will use a sterile surgical scalpel to gently scrape the top layers of your skin. Your face will be positioned at a 45-degree slant, while the aesthetician will pull the facial skin taut between their fingers. They will move the scalpel precisely in an upward motion, treating one small section of your skin at a time. The procedure will continue until the manual exfoliation for the entire face is completed. The entire procedure can be completed in about 20 minutes. You will not experience any significant discomfort throughout the treatment process.

Step 3: Moisturizing the Skin

The aesthetician will rinse away the debris arising from the treatment, and then dry your face. A customized selection of moisturizers and serums will be applied to your treated sites and allowed to soak in well. We will then provide you the post-op care guidelines to help you achieve maximum results from your dermaplaning treatment.

Treatment Regimen For Dermaplaning

Best results are usually achieved with dermaplaning when you schedule your appointments once a month. However, this can vary according to your skin’s natural cellular turnover rate, so we will recommend a customized treatment plan for you. If you have sensitive skin, we may keep a longer gap between two treatments. We encourage you to set up a dermaplaning consultation with our team to determine the ideal treatment regimen for you.
