As a person ages, they will develop changes in the facial appearance that are aesthetically undesirable. These facial signs of aging will typically include fine lines, wrinkles and creases around the eyes, nose and mouth. In many cases, the changes in facial appearance extend beyond the expected wrinkles and fine lines.
With age, the skin loses natural collagen and elastin fibers, which may result in sagging skin and compromise the facial contours. Although cutting edge innovations in non-invasive facial rejuvenation are now available, but facelift plastic surgery still continues to be the most powerful way to address facial aging.
However, a surgical facelift is not a solution for every patient. A patient’s general health may not allow for a facelift surgery, or they may not be prepared to undergo a procedure that involves risks, discomfort, significant costs, and downtime. Many patients seek only subtle improvements to the face, and not a dramatic level of rejuvenation.
For all such patients, the outstanding and state of the art Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery (VIPS), led by board certified plastic surgeons Dr. Reps Sundin and Dr. Burton Sundin, offers the Silhouette InstaLift as a unique non-surgical facelift treatment. VIPS provides this treatment to patients in Richmond, Virginia, and surrounding communities and suburbs in the Mother of States.
Minimally Invasive Alternative
The Silhouette InstaLift provides a minimally invasive alternative to traditional facelift plastic surgery. The procedure will help rejuvenate the face by lifting and securing the underlying facial tissue and enhancing facial volume from within. This non-surgical alternative is ideal for people who are bothered by the appearance of facial signs of aging and sagging facial contours, but want to avoid a surgical facelift.
Silhouette InstaLift involves the use of a re-absorbable suture and bi-directional cones to lift and stabilize the mid-face tissue, and produce natural looking and sustainable improvement by triggering fresh collagen production. The result is a younger looking, smoother and aesthetically pleasing facial appearance without the downtime and expense of a traditional facelift surgery.
How does it Work?
The Silhouette InstaLift technology utilizes a small suture threaded by bi-directional cones. The material that is used to produce both the suture and the cones is Polyglycolide and L-lactide. This is a very safe bio-medical co-polymer, which will get natural reabsorbed by the body with the passage of time.
The smooth cones must be correctly placed at a depth of about 5 mm within the subcutaneous tissue of the facial skin. It will allow for gentle lifting, positioning and stabilizing of the tissue, while the bi-directional placement of the cones will help in stabilization by squeezing and holding the tissue in place.
The technique can be used to improve aging lines and wrinkles around the eyes and forehead as well as mitigate smile lines. As the name suggests, the results are produced instantly in terms of lifting of the facial contours, but the results will continue to improve as the patient leaves the treatment provider’s office. Noteworthy and prolific plastic surgeons at the Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery receive patients from Richmond, Virginia, and other neighborhoods and towns in this area of state for Silhouette InstaLift and various other procedures.
