Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon – Richmond Safety

When the time comes to choose the best plastic surgeon to perform your next procedure, there are many things to look for. One of the most important factors is whether or not the practitioner is a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Board-certified plastic surgeons have passed several comprehensive exams. They have graduated from an accredited medical school and have done at least two to three years of supervised residency in plastic surgery. They have also completed at least three years of general surgery training.

A board-certified plastic surgeon will have at least two years of professional practice experience and will have gained experience with all types of plastic surgery procedures.

A plastic surgeon who has received certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) has the training and the skills needed to get patients the best possible results. While anyone can call themselves a cosmetic surgeon or cosmetic dermatologist, there are no official American Board of Medicine certifications for these titles.
