Banish Worry Lines with a Brow Lift*
A wrinkled forehead often betrays the worries that plague use, causing us to crease our brows in consternation. Worry lines can run deep—and are a tell-tale sign of aging, and deep troughs can also form between the eyes and the bridge of the nose. These brow wrinkles can sometimes have the effect of making us look much older than we feel—contributing to a lack of self-confidence and low self-esteem. Fortunately, brow lift surgery can smooth out those unsightly furrows, leaving your brow with a smooth, unblemished appearance that will make you look and feel youthful and rejuvenated.*
A brow lift is a delicate cosmetic procedure, and Drs. Burton and Reps Sundin and their team of fully-licensed and highly experienced aestheticians at the Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery are adept at the latest surgical brow lift techniques. During a consultation at the Virginia Institute of Plastic Surgery, with offices in Richmond and Tyson’s Corner, Virginia, the highly-skilled team of board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Burton Sundin and Dr. Reps Sundin will speak with you about your needs and aesthetic objectives. Brow lift surgery is an excellent option if your goals include:*
- Smoothing out the appearance of brow furrows and “worry lines”*
- Reducing the appearance of wrinkles between the eyes and the bridge of the nose*
- Improving the appearance of vertical creases between the eyebrows*
*Free consultations do not apply to PRP, Scar Revision, Earlobe Repair, Revision Surgery, or Insurance related procedures or conditions.
How Brow Lift Surgery Works
Your individual treatment plan for brow lift surgery will be customized to meet your personal needs and aesthetic goals, so no two surgeries are exactly alike. Typically, brow lift surgery is performed under general or IV anesthesia, and usually takes between one and two hours to complete. During the procedure, incisions may be placed behind the hairline on the central crown of the head. This has the advantage of completely obscuring the scar from view after healing. Alternately, endoscopic incisions may be made behind the hairline on either side of the brow. And a third option, mid-brow incision, is also possible, depending on your needs. Your surgeon will work with you to develop a treatment plan that offers you the best possible outcome with the least amount of scarring and discomfort.*
Once the incisions are made, the skin and underlying tissue will be tightened and contoured to present a smooth, youthful appearance, free of the deep wrinkles and creases of aging. Following surgery, the incision site is typically carefully sutured, taped, and secured with bandages during the first critical phase of healing. In some cases, a drain may aid in the elimination of blood and fluid. It is important to keep your head elevated during the first several days, and get plenty of rest. After 10-14 days, the sutures will be removed, and you can expect to return to your normal daily activities soon thereafter. Any lingering bruising or swelling can be concealed with camouflaging makeup as you return to work, and these effects will diminish as healing continues to progress over the next several weeks.*
