Turn Back the Hands of Time with Powerful Facial Rejuvenation!*It seems one of life’s greatest ironies that the effects of aging and environmental damage occur first and most dramatically on the face, the most visible, most noticeable part of the body and the central feature of our natural beauty. Consistent sun avoidance, use of sun screen, and excellent skincare routines and products can stave off, for a while, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while the careful application of make-up can create a temporary appearance of youth. But eventually, all of us will look into the mirror and realize that we no longer look as young and vigorous as we feel.*
A surgical facelift can correct the unwelcome signs of aging, rejuvenate your appearance, and enhance the natural contours and harmony of your face by lifting and tightening the underlying facial tissues and musculature, while eliminating unwanted fatty build-up and loose, sagging skin. Despite the advent of non-surgical facelift options, which do offer minor, temporary enhancement, a surgical facelift remains the most powerful, most effective way to erase the signs of aging and deliver long-term rejuvenation. Moreover, surgical techniques have advanced considerably in recent years as well, significantly improving traditional techniques that pulled the skin across the face and created an unnatural, “windswept”, “tight”, or “pinched” appearance. Today’s advanced techniques enable surgeons to manipulate the facial tissues at a deeper level, producing age-defying, subtly-dramatic results.*

*Anti-Aging Benefits of a Surgical Facelift
*Facelift surgery remains the most powerful, long-term option for individuals seeking to correct the visible signs of facial aging. A facelift may be an ideal solution for individuals seeking to correct:
- “Laugh lines” or other prominent lines, wrinkles, and creases along the nasolabial folds*
- Lines and wrinkles underneath the eyes*
- Wrinkles and creases underneath the nose and on the upper lip*
- Sagging, drooping skin around the eyes and cheeks (ptosis)*
- Unwanted fatty deposits that create the appearance of asymmetry*
- Submental fullness (“double chin”) or “jowls” caused by aging muscle tone, excess fat, and/or loose skin*
What Happens During Facelift Surgery?
Facelift surgery is usually performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia or IV sedation. The duration of the procedure depends heavily on the degree of correction, the type of facelift required, and whether ancillary procedures are being performed simultaneously. A facelift can be combined with a number of surgical and non-surgical procedures, such as:
- Brow or forehead lift
- Eyelid lift (blepharoplasty)
- Neck lift
- Fat grafting or facial implants
- Use of injectables and/or dermal fillers
- Non-surgical techniques to enhance the elasticity, texture, and surface of the skin
The procedure itself involves creating incisions in the facial skin to give the surgeon access to the underlying structures. Great care is always taken to hide the incisions in the hairline and the natural contours of the face to reduce the possibility of visible scarring. For a complete facelift, the incisions follow the hairline from the temples to the lower scalp, around the top of the ear. For a limited facelift, smaller incisions are made along the hairline at the temple and above the ear, and occasionally under the upper lip. Once the underlying structures have been lifted, excess fatty deposits readjusted or removed, and excess skin excised, the incisions are carefully closed.
The most common side effects of facelift surgery are facial swelling and bruising, which usually peak during the first 24-48 hours. During this time, we encourage you to keep your head elevated as much as possible. Most people find they need to take 1-2 weeks off from work to allow the bruising to fully disappear, although minor facial swelling can linger for up to a month after surgery.
